Ottawa Transit Riders / Le groupe des usagers de transport en commun d'Ottawa

John Redins was a founding member of Ottawa Transit Riders and this will be his third term as board member. He is reliant on transit and very interested for improvements in both conventional transit and ParaTranspo (via ParaParity) and has been heavily involved in the new ParaTranspo online booking work.

Kari Glynes Elliott was a founding member of OTR and this will be her third term on the board of directors. Kari is pushing for better communication and transparency from the City and OC Transpo; she believes that improving the information available to riders will go a long way towards re-building trust.

Laura Shantz: This will be Laura’s second term with OTR. She believes that, if we want to be serious about equity, dignity and the climate emergency, we need a transit system that is far better than what we have today. She is extremely concerned about transit access within local neighbourhoods.

Rory Lewis: This will be Rory’s first term on the OTR board of directors. Rory believes that the Ottawa public transit system isn't worthy of the people who depend on it. He believes that our bus system is expensive, unreliable, unpredictable, and overcrowded; ParaTranspo is beneath the dignity of the people who need it; and the train is, in short, a disaster. He believes the transit system needs an overhaul and is looking forward to working with OTR to make a difference.

Sally Thomas: This will be Sally’s second term on the OTR board of directors and she continues to push for transit that works for everyone, no matter their abilities. She has been active on ParaParity issues, as well, and sits on the OC Transpo ParaTranspo Working Group.

Sam Boswell was also a founding member of OTR and this will be her third term on the board of directors. Sam is most interested in focusing on Ottawa’s insufficient bus network and ParaTranspo service, both of which tend to be dropped to the end of the priorities list when the LRT system has issues.

Stuart MacKay was also a founding member of OTR and this will be his third term on the board of directors. Stuart is focused on improving public transit funding from the provincial and federal levels. He helped to develop the Keep Transit Moving Coalition and is responsible for OTR having a leadership role in a national network of public transit advocacy groups.

Elle pense que, si nous voulons être sérieux en ce qui concerne l'équité, la dignité et l'urgence climatique, nous avons besoin d'un système de transport en commun bien meilleur que ce que nous avons aujourd'hui. Elle est extrêmement préoccupée par l'accès au transport en commun dans les quartiers locaux.

Rory Lewis : Ce sera le premier mandat de Rory au conseil d'administration du groupe des usagers de transport en commun d'Ottawa. Rory croit que le système de transport en commun d'Ottawa n'est pas digne des personnes qui en dépendent. Il croit que notre système d'autobus est coûteux, peu fiable, imprévisible et surchargé ; ParaTranspo est indigne des personnes qui en ont besoin ; et le train est, en bref, un désastre. Il pense que le système de transport en commun a besoin d'une refonte et il est impatient de travailler avec OTR pour faire la différence.

Sally Thomas: Ce sera le deuxième mandat de Sally au conseil d'administration du groupe des usagers de transport en commun d'Ottawa et elle continue à faire pression pour que le transport en commun fonctionne pour tous, quelles que soient leurs capacités. Elle a également été active sur les questions de ParaParité et siège au groupe de travail ParaTranspo d'OC Transpo.

Sam Boswell est également un membre fondateur du groupe des usagers de transport en commun d'Ottawa et ce sera son troisième mandat au conseil d'administration. Sam est surtout intéressée à se concentrer sur l'insuffisance du réseau d'autobus d'Ottawa et du service ParaTranspo, deux éléments qui ont tendance à être relégués à la fin de la liste des priorités lorsque le réseau de TLR connaît des problèmes.

Stuart MacKay est également un membre fondateur du groupe des usagers de transport en commun d'Ottawa et ce sera son troisième mandat au conseil d'administration. Stuart se concentre sur l'amélioration du financement du transport public aux niveaux provincial et fédéral. Il a participé au développement de la coalition Keep Transit Moving et est responsable du rôle de leader du groupe des usagers de transport en commun d'Ottawa dans un réseau national de groupes de défense du transport public.
